With over 20 years of dedicated service in public service work and a deep-rooted passion for advocacy, Kasie is a seasoned professional committed to making a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities. With an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Kasie is on the verge of completing a Master’s Degree in Special Education, further enhancing her knowledge and expertise in the field.
As a devoted mother of four children, ranging from toddler to adult-teen, including one with disabilities and an Individualized Education Program (IEP), Kasie understands firsthand the challenges faced by families navigating the education system. Her experience as an adoptive parent, particularly through the foster care system, ignited her passion for advocacy, driving her to become a vocal champion for those who cannot advocate for themselves.
For the past 11 years, Kasie has been an integral part of the public school system, specializing in special education. Her role as a special education teacher has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of the IEP process, allowing her to effectively support students with diverse needs and abilities. Furthermore, she has served as a consultant and expert witness for a reputable Madison, WI Area Law Firm, leveraging her expertise to provide valuable insights and guidance in legal matters related to special education.
Kasie is known for her innovative and adaptable approach to teaching, constantly exploring new methods and techniques to meet the unique needs of clients, particularly those with challenging behaviors and autism spectrum disorders. Her personal journey with her son’s sensory processing disorder sparked her interest in sensory diets and routines, leading her to pursue additional training in the Zones of Regulation and Sensory Diets from the trainers at Harkla.
Committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment, Kasie is dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to reach their full potential. She continues to advocate tirelessly for the rights and needs of individuals with disabilities, striving to create a world where everyone has equal opportunities to succeed.
